German Shepherds
German shepards are known worldwide for their strong character and even today, are utilized for more than just house pets. You'll often see these working dogs in the armed forces, police departments, or even gracing the silver screen, German Shepards are highly intelligent
animals and have been used as police dogs, sheep dogs, guard dogs, blind eye dogs, search and rescue, and military work. The dogs nose can sniff out drugs and intruders and can alert handlers of underground mines in time to avoid detonation.
Are german shepards good pets?
The German Shepherd is an intelligent and capable working dog. He’s versatile, excelling at most anything he's trained to do, competitive obedience and very faithful companion. If he's well trained and has always been exposed to kids especially as a puppy, he will turn out to be a great companion for children. In fact, some say he's a cross between a babysitter and a cop, both gentle with, and protective of, the children in his family.
One thing he's not good at
is being alone for long periods of time. And if under-exercised and ignored by his family it may lead to behavior problems such as barking, chewing and
digging.
German Shepherd training
German Shepherd training is a mutually beneficial process, and can lead to years of joy with your new best friend. German Shepherd training is a vital, but
relatively easy task. German Shepherd dogs are intelligent and can easily be trained for specialized services in a variety of fields. German Shepherd
training is all about teaching your dog right from wrong. You do this by rewarding them for things they do when asked and when they misbehave they are
disciplined enough to know they have done something wrong.
Aggressive behavior within this breed is due to a combination of poor breeding and training. German Shepherds are almost always good with other pets, and
they are excellent with children. Again, the tests now are made far more difficult. All exercises in obedience and protection are demonstrated off leash.
Dogs have their own set of behavioral problems. Lack of proper training methods may badly affect your dog's behavior and turn your beloved pet into a
disobedient, aggressive or unruly dog. Dogs are prioritised with food that both caters to their body?s requirements and preferences. At the same time, owners
and their budgets are not neglected. Dogs who understand what’s expected make for happier owners. And if pet owners are happy with their puppy, then the
puppy is likely to be happy as well.
Dogs by their very nature require a “pack leader,” and will be much more comfortable when their owners make it clear that they are the leader of the pack.
Otherwise, if the owner does not establish this ‘pack rank’ issue early on, then the dog will try to assume that role. Dog training is pretty simple, give
her praise when your puppy does something you want, and correct your puppy when she does something you don't want. Doing this consistently will eventually
train you German Shepherd effectively.
